The years between two people, put in order.

An anniversary film is not a slideshow with music over it. It is a short film that decides what the years actually were — and it is built entirely from what you can find in a drawer, a phone and the people who were there.

In practice

What we look for first

Most anniversary material arrives as a pile: wedding prints, holiday snaps, a handful of phone clips, maybe a voicemail. The work is deciding the spine — the three or four moments the film is actually about — and then letting everything else support them.

  • Chapters by year, by place, or by the people in the photographs.
  • Voice notes and messages read over stills, where the audio exists.
  • A licensed track, or one you supply with the right to use it.
  • Titles in your language, set by hand.

Material

What tends to work

If the material is thin, the film gets shorter rather than padded. A four-minute film made of eight good photographs is a better anniversary present than a twelve-minute one made of everything.

FAQ

Before you send anything

How long does a film take?
For material we already have, the first cut usually lands within ten working days of the outline being approved, and the finished film within three weeks. Larger projects — a full wedding, several years of family footage — are scheduled in your written quote rather than promised on this page.
How do I send photographs and clips?
Through a shared folder we set up for your project. Phone footage, scans, printed photographs and voice notes all go to the same place. If your material is only on paper, photograph or scan it at the highest resolution you have and send that instead — we will tell you if anything is too soft to hold up on a large screen.
Who can see my material?
Only the people editing your film. Your photographs and clips are used for your film and nothing else: they are not published, not used as examples, and not shown on this site. We delete working files on request once your film has been delivered.
How many revisions do I get?
Two rounds are included in every project. Each round is a single pass: you watch the cut and send timecoded notes in one go, and we apply them. A third round or a change of direction after approval is possible, but it is a new scope and is quoted separately.

An anniversary is a deadline worth planning for.
